Micronutrient Deficiencies Caused by Pharmaceutical Medications
Pam Smith, MD, MPH, MS
Abstract
It has been estimated that about 30% of side effects from medications are related to drug-induced pharmaceutical deficiencies. This webinar will examine this increasingly prevalent health concern and highlight the importance of micronutrient testing.
Learning Objectives
- Understand micronutrient depletions caused by commonly used medications including statins, oral contraceptives, cardiac and anti-hypertensive drugs, and medications for asthma, gout, and seizures, among others.
- Understand that some side effects related to medication use may be driven by nutrient depletions caused by that medication.
- Understand the role of SpectraCell's Micronutrient testing in managing micronutrient depletions.
