President and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Zhida (Adam) Huang, M.D., Ph.D.

Prior to joining SpectraCell in 2017, Dr. Huang was the Vice Chairman (Science & Technology Committee) for Beingmate Group Co., Ltd; Vice President of the Beingmate Research Institute; and General Manager (Division of Maternal & Infant Nutrition) for Beingmate. From 2001-2009, he was Director of Immunohistochemistry and staff pathologist/ scientist at Roche/ Ventana/ Spring Bioscience Corporation, located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Huang holds an MD and a Ph.D. in Pathology from Zhejiang University School of Medicine.

Christine Gutierrez

Ms. Gutierrez began her career at Brown & Associates Medical Laboratory, where she became Director of Sales & Marketing in 1992.  Subsequently, she held various business development and marketing management positions with Nichols Institute, a leading specialty laboratories, and its  subsequent acquirer, Quest Diagnostics.  Christine then joined Laboratory Corporation of America as Regional Managed Care Director for the Esoteric Division, and was National Director of Managed Care for the U.S. Labs subsidiary.  Subsequently, she served as National Sales Manager and Business Development Director at Varicare, a specialty psychiatry and behavioral health services provider, and Vice President  - Sales and Marketing of Biophysical Corporation, a specialized clinical lab in the wellness and prevention arena.

Jim JacobsonVice President and Chief Scientific Officer

James W. Jacobson, Ph.D.

James W. Jacobson, Ph.D., has been named Vice President - Chief Scientific Officer and Laboratory Director of SpectraCell Laboratories, Inc. Dr. Jacobson joined SpectraCell in September 2015. He was previously Laboratory Director for Biophysical Corporation, a specialized high-complexity CLIA -accredited laboratory. From 1998 -2008, he served in a variety of positions at Luminex Corporation, including Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, and chairman of the Luminex Scientific Advisory Board. Before joining Luminex, Dr. Jacobson held scientific management positions at several clinical laboratories in Houston. At SpectraCell, Virus Reference, and Cytastar, he directed clinical laboratory quality, regulatory compliance, certification, and development.  Dr. Jacobson holds a Ph.D. in Population Biology (Genetics) from Washington University in Saint Louis, and completed his postdoctoral training at North Carolina State University. He is an inventor on several patents, and is the author of publications in laboratory science, genetics, molecular biology, and medical devices.

Rusty Preece
Executive Vice President

William R. Preece, CPA

Mr. Preece's experience includes 10 years of public accounting at Price Waterhouse and Grant Thornton, where he was a senior manager. Subsequently, he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for private and publicly-owned companies, including Rx Medical Services, an operator of clinical labs and imaging centers, and Physician's Surgical Care, an outpatient surgical center company.  In addition to financial matters, Mr. Preece also manages a variety of corporate administrative functions. Mr. Preece, a CPA, holds a B. S. and a M. S. in Accounting from the University of Florida.

Kathy boggs
Vice President - Operations

kathy Boggs, MT(ASCP)

Kathy Boggs joined SpectraCell in December 2005 as Laboratory Manager. Throughout her career at SpectraCell, she has also held the positions of Director of Client Services and Director of Laboratory Operations. Ms. Boggs has extensive experience in the laboratory field as a Medical Technologist in hospital laboratories as well as private and reference laboratories. She spent 13 years as Director of Operations of Drummond Clinical Laboratory, Inc., a private reference laboratory in Houston. She was also the Laboratory Manager for Clinical Pathology Laboratories’ Houston location. Ms. Boggs holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Texas at Arlington. She completed a year of internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA and holds a registry from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
